If I Stay

If I Stay is a new sappy chick flick for young adults movie that is based off the book of the same title by Gayle Forman and stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Jamie Blackley. Moretz plays Mia, a girl in a musical family, who is waiting for an acceptance letter from Juilliard. Mia and her family take a family trip to enjoy a snow day, but her family gets into a car accident, and Mia is put into a coma. The rest of the family wasn’t as lucky and passed away during the wreck or in the hospital. Mia loses her entire family and must choose between life and death while in a coma. This movie follows Mia through life obstacles and her first love, Adam, played by Jamie Blackley. “Being with Adam is like learning to fly,” said Mia during one of her many flashbacks. Love at first site occurs when Adam sees Mia playing cello in a musical classroom. The only problem is that the two are both at the brink of musical stardom, but like Mia’s mom said “true love’s a &#@!.” Mia recalls different moments in her life while in surgery and in her coma. She must use these memories and how her remaining family is dealing with the whole ordeal to decide if she should continue to live. Mia must learn to take the good and bad in life before she can decide to stay or go. If you or your girl like corny, sad movies this is the one for you. This is a heart-warming tear-jerking movie that will leave you wanting more.
