Let’s Be Cops is a comedy movie starring Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. Johnson plays Ryan, a 30-year-old former college gridiron star and a mostly unemployed actor. Wayans plays Justin, his 30-year-old struggling video game designer roommate. In case you didn’t get it from the title, these guys decide to impersonate policemen just for fun.

In the beginning of the movie, Justin pitches an idea at his boss for a cop video game, but his boss doesn’t listen. So Ryan decides it’ll be fun to be cops.

When the pair come across police uniforms, from Justin’s failed attempt at pitching a cop-themed video game, they decide to attend a masquerade party that they think is a costume party. While in uniform, the two are mistaken for real policemen, so they take advantage of it.

The two are engaged in various high jinks that escalates when Ryan buys a used police car on eBay and designs it himself with the right decals and sirens. Although Justin doesn’t agree at first, he finally joins after finally getting somewhere with Josie (Nina Dobrev), the beautiful coffee shop waitress.

The two eventually run into a gang of Russian mobsters headed by Mossi Kasic (James D’Arcy) with the aid of Garcia (Andy Garcia), a detective for the LAPD, who at first mistakes them for real policemen. They get into a dangerous investigation with a real policeman (Rob Riggle), in which their fake badges are put on the line.

In the end, Ryan becomes a member of the force and Justin’s video game is finally sold.

‘Let’s Be Cops’ is a Rated R movie, so it’s not suitable for children.

If you love to laugh, and love James D’Arcy, then this is the movie for you.
