The excitement of Lufkin High School’s homecoming week is here!

Homecoming events are planned every school day leading up to the Panthers’ football game against Willis at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The dress-up themes include:

  • Monday — Athletes vs. Mathletes
  • Tuesday — Tropical Tuesday
  • Wednesday — What not to Wear Wednesday
  • Thursday — Throw-Back Thursday
  • Friday — Spirit Day Friday, when students and staff members are allowed to wear their mums and garters

Students this month have nominated eight seniors, four juniors, four sophomores and four freshmen for the homecoming court.

On Thursday night, the school will have a Homecoming Pep Rally, at which the homecoming court will be introduced. The pep rally will begin after the Panthers’ freshman football game, which is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The homecoming queen will be announced before Friday night’s game.
