Up, up, up and away! Lufkin High School print shop teacher Brian Crews is the mastermind behind the Angelina County AirFest that’s scheduled for Saturday at the Angelina County Airport.

“The AirFest is produced by the Lufkin Marine Corps League,” Crews said. “It’s a benefit for the Marine Toys for Tots campaign for Angelina and Trinity counties to benefit local children with new unwrapped toys for Christmas. Annually, the Marine Corps League donates 12,000 toys to a little over 3,000 kids between the counties.”

Admission for the air show is $15 for ages 12 and up, $10 for ages 6 through 11, free for ages 5 and under, and $8 for first responders, military and senior citizens.

The featured pilots are Randy Ball, Jeremy Holt, Mike Galloway and Kevin Moore, along with headline act Kyle Franklin Comedy and Dracula Biplane. Attendees can meet the pilots and take pictures.

The gates to the AirFest open at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.
