Students and staff of Lufkin High School are encouraged to participate in the blood drive that’s scheduled for Thursday in the Purple Gym.

“This has probably been the most important and valuable time that our state has needed to consider donating blood,” Student Activities Principal Ty Cauthen said.

Cauthen said there is a shortage of blood, so he wants as many people as possible to come to the event, which was rescheduled to Thursday due to COVID-19 concerns.
