JV Pack takes third place in Longview soccer tournament

The Lufkin High School junior varsity boys soccer team took third place in its first tournament of the year, held earlier this month in Longview.
The Panthers won their first match, beating Forney 1-0. On the tournament’s second day, Longview beat the JV Pack 4-1. The Panthers beat Palestine 7-0 in their last match to earn third place in the tournament.
“It was a difficult tournament,” said Isaac Olivares, a center back for the Panthers. “They had really good teams, but overall it was fun and enjoyable. We came in third place, which is not that bad.”

Sterling Meyers is the head coach of the JV Panthers.
