Once again, the girls golf team opens the week on Monday, this time with the Lake Creek Invitational tournament in Montgomery.

On Tuesday, the varsity tennis team travels to Longview to play against the Pine Tree Pirates. Additionally, the volleyball teams host Nacogdoches’ Lady Dragons in Panther Gymnasium on the Lufkin Middle School campus. The JV and freshman teams play at 5 p.m., with varsity to follow at 6.

On Wednesday, the cross country team hosts its annual Lufkin Coke Classic.

After an off day on Thursday, the Pack is back in action Friday with the volleyball teams playing host to Pine Tree. The varsity girls play at 4:30 p.m. and the JV and freshman girls compete at 5:30.

At the halfway mark of the football season, the Lufkin Football Panthers, fresh off an important 24-18 road win over the Magnolia Bulldogs, host the College Station Cougars, who walloped a Waller Bulldogs team at home last week 38-7. Last year’s matchup saw the Panthers roll over the defending state champion Cougars on the road in 35-3 fashion. College Station looks to be the Pack’s biggest challenger to the district title once again this year. Each team boasts a 2-0 record in district play and a 4-1 record overall.

The boys golf team will compete in the Texarkana Classic on Friday and Saturday on the Arkansas side of the Two-State City.
