This Week in LP Sports: Softball, baseball, golf, basketball, soccer and powerlifting teams in action

On Monday, the girls softball team hosts a round robin scrimmage with Central Heights and Huntington. Additionally, the boys JV golf team competes in Nacogdoches in a tournament hosted by Hudson.

On Tuesday, the girls and boys soccer teams play the Marshall Mavericks. The girls host their games, and the boys play in Marshall. Both JV games take place at 4 p.m., followed by varsity at 6. Futhermore, the basketball teams travel to Whitehouse to play the Wildcats. The JV teams play at 5, followed by the boys Purple team and the girls varsity team at 6 and 6:15, respectively. The girls sophomore and boys varsity teams cap off the night at 7:30.

On Thursday, the powerlifting team travels for a meet at Nacogdoches set to begin at 4 p.m. Also, the JV soccer teams host the Dragons. Following their manners in saying “ladies first,” the girls are at 4, followed by the boys at 6.

On Friday, the varsity soccer teams host Nacogdoches at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. As before, the girls game has the earlier time slot. Additionally, the JV tennis team plays at Hudson, and the basketball teams host the Pirates of Pine Tree. Times are the same as Tuesday.

On Saturday, the softball and baseball teams host scrimmages. The softball team will host Central and Grapeland, and the boys host the Hudson Hornets.
