Perhaps the greatest game of all time, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, was originally released on April 13, 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). A Link to the Past was the third game of The Legend of Zelda series, and it is the only game made compatible with the SNES which included a 16-bit technology.

The landmark hero from the two previous Zelda games, Link, is on a mission. Link undertakes the task to save the princess of Hyrule, Zelda, from the evil wizard Agahnim who has kidnapped her. Link leaves his peaceful life on the outskirts and starts his expedition with the only goal on his mind being to save the beautiful princess, Zelda.

The developer used the newest technology of the time period from when A Link to the Past was released and created an astonishing game that is still enjoyed to this very day. The game graphics are so realistic that the player gets dragged into this word believing that it is their own. The alteration from light to dark worlds is quite evident thanks to the changes in the surrounding throughout the game.

The 16- bit technology was used to its full advantage when it comes to the sound for this role-playing game. The tune to the game is very familiar when compared to the first two games, but this melody has a few instrumental modifications. The music changes along with the scenery to match perfectly with the light and dark worlds.

The setting for this game takes place in the past before the previous games of the Zelda series. This adventurous game takes place in the imagined land of Hyrule that has a surprise around every corner. The locations within Hyrule are constantly changing with smooth transitions which makes this game feel timeless when playing.

Link advances from one zone to another by searching through the dungeons and collecting items that will allow him to move on to the next step for his mission. The creators involved mini games, quest and puzzles along with the dungeons which keeps players from getting burnt out on the game.

A Link to the Past is without a doubt a classic video game that will be around for years to come.
