Which Membership Is Right for You?
Here are some tips to help you determine which PPG professional membership suits you.
Behavior & Training Professionals
If you are a pet behavior or training professional, choose the Behavior and Training Professional membership. You can indicate which species you work with and what services you provide during your application process.
During the application process for each member, you will be prompted to select the species you work with and the services you offer. Choose a yearly or monthly membership, then click “Sign Up.”
Pet Care Professionals
If you work in Pet Care, choose the suitable membership for your business. These membership levels will soon have their member area and additional benefits.

Doggone Safe Memberships. For Professionals Focused on Dog Bite Prevention
There are three membership levels. The individual membership is open to anyone passionate about Dog Bite Prevention.
Memberships in the Be a Tree Program and the Dog Bite Prevention Educator Certification Program require specialized knowledge. Suppose you are an individual member who gains the knowledge needed for either of the two membership programs. In that case, we will provide you with a FREE upgrade code so you do not lose your individual-level membership benefits. In other words, you will only pay for one membership account. If you carry one of the two certifications, you may join at the Be a Tree or Dog Bite Prevention levels.
Students and Trainees
If you are a student or trainee and still need to practice as a professional, choose the Student/Trainee option. You may remain at this membership level for three (3) years. Please note that Student/Trainee members are only eligible for a listing in the PPG directory once they become practicing professionals. The provisional membership level is also ideal for practicing professionals who philosophically agree with PPG’s Guiding Principles but have not yet mastered all of the required mechanical skills and wish to have access to the resources and membership support while learning.
Veterinary Professionals, Veterinarian Practices and Pet-Related Businesses
If you work full-time as a veterinarian, veterinary behaviorist, licensed veterinary technician, or veterinary assistant, join as a Veterinary Medicine Professional. Start by choosing a yearly or monthly membership, then click “Sign Up.”
Veterinary practices and pet-related businesses may also join under the Business/Practice Membership. Start by selecting the numerical range that reflects the number of employees in the practice or business.
If you have a pet-related business, you might also consider PPG’s Corporate Membership, which provides 20+ opportunities to market your products and services directly to PPG’s growing membership.
Shelter and Rescue Professionals and Organizations
If you work or volunteer full-time for a shelter or rescue organization, join as an Individual Shelter & Rescue professional.
Shelter and rescue organizations may also join under the Organizational Shelter & Rescue Membership. Start by selecting the numerical range that reflects the number of individuals in the organization.
Nonactive and Other Pet Professionals
If you are a nonactive or retired pet professional, you work in a pet-related field other than pet behavior/training, pet care, veterinary medicine, or shelter and rescue, or you simply want to support our mission, join as a Supporting Member. Please note that Supporting members are not eligible for a listing in the PPG directory.
